had a mini "field-trip" thing for school today, and we visited The Social Studio on Smith st. Its sort of like a workshop place/shop that uses excess materials from the fashion industry and reconstruct them into clothes. So during its process, jobs are created for young refugees and the profit goes into training and employment of more refugees who are struggling with life in melb.
what really caught my attention wasnt the concept (havent we heard this like a million times already). it really is the whole image tt they are portraying. the interior, the design, the people. if i wasnt listening to grace, i would have thought tt this was just like any other boutique along smith st. no shabby looking, cheap clothes kind of non-profit business. this is serious shit.
you dont enter the place with the intention to purchase anything out of sympathy. they take pride in their design, and you purchase because you actually like it.
AND THIS IS LIKE THE DREAM SHOP G AND I WILL HAVE IN THE FUTURE.
SHOP FRONT + WORK STUDIO + CAFE.
ANYONE WHO WISH TO RIP THIS BRILLIANT IDEA OF OURS, PLS FUCK OFF THANKS.
omg. i wish i can rob them now.
first photo taken off their site, the rest taken with my bb.
